While watching the Olympics, I was as many others were, mesmerized by Michael Phelps. Practicing 50 miles a week, Michael won 9 gold medals in swimming competitions, leaving Michael with a net worth in endorsements of 40 million dollars. Michael was asked this question: “what are you thinking about when you are in a competition?’’ His answer? “Winning”, was his response.
If winning could only be that simple! Wait, maybe that’s all it takes, is a strong commitment and no other interference or thoughts to muddle the thought of winning. We tend to think about winning as something that is hard and difficult to achieve. In Michael Phelps’ case, he trained his mind to win and conditioned his body to swim competitively by practicing six days a week.
We all have so many opportunities to win and achieve great things. All we have to do is to commit to winning.
Now that brings another question – which presidential candidate is thinking only of winning? Whoever really wants to win, should be taking notes and watching Michael Phelps as Michael has the attitude and knows what it takes to be a winner. Do you?
