Last year we initiated the CM Information Specialists Quarterly “Spirit Award.” Upon recommendation and nomination, an employee who goes above and beyond their job is chosen each quarter.

The award for this quarter goes to Tina Fox. Tina works at Childrenʼs Hospital in St. Paul and was nominated by Kathy Christiansen. The environment at Childrenʼs, while similar to other hospitals, has a special feeling because their clients are children. Dealing with parents who are frustrated and confused because their child is gravely ill requires a special finesse. Tina is calm and professional as she talks to these parents, many of them who speak other languages. In Kathyʼs words, “Tina is well-respected by the medical records staff. They have commented to me on numerous occasions how good she is, how kind she is, and request ʻcan we keep her?ʼ”

Tinaʼs contributions to the parents, children and co-workers at Childrenʼs Hospital are numerous. Her lasting impression to all of these people is priceless.
